Healthy and Crunchy Broccoli Pakoda - Swagatika and Sagarika

Ingredients
( Serves: 2 to 4 people )
- Broccoli 500 grams, cut into small florets
- Gram Flour 1 Cup
- Rice Flour 2 Tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Turmeric Powder 1/4 Tsp
- Red Chilli Powder 1 Tsp
- Cumin Powder 1 Tsp
- Garam Masala Powder 1 Tsp
- Black Pepper Powder 1/2 Tsp
- Carom Seeds 1/4 Tsp
- Grated Ginger 1 Tsp
- Chopped coriander leaves
- A pinch of baking soda
- Oil for deep frying
- Water as required
How to make

Firstly, wash broccoli and place it over a chopping board. Cut the broccoli into florets and keep them aside.

Bring a large pot of water to boil. Lower the broccoli florets into the boiling water and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Remove and keep aside.

Take a bowl and add gram flour, rice flour, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, black pepper powder, carom seeds, grated ginger and chopped coriander leaves and a pinch of baking soda.

Add water into the bowl and make a smooth paste.

Place a kadhai over medium flame and pour oil in it.

Dip broccoli florets into the batter and coat them properly.

Once the oil is heated, add the coated broccoli florets into the kadhai and deep fry them.

Place tissues onto a plate and transfer the bhajis onto this plate to remove excess oil from bhajis.

Serve hot with green chutney and tomato ketchup.
